If you work for a company and have significant experience, you can make anywhere between $22 - $30 an hour working for an established company. For a new medical billing professional, you can make anywhere between $16 - $23 an hour.
If you decide to do the independent route, it's largely based on what accounts you can close on and provide billing services for. The majority of your time will be selling and closing your accounts before you even get to start billing and coding.
